Congress’s ‘black protest’ a subtle message against Ram Temple construction: Amit Shah | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah criticised the Congress for staging nationwide protests against the government on Friday, claiming that the grand old party chose this day for demonstration to further its hidden agenda of appeasement politics.
“Congress has been protesting daily in normal clothes. Today, they took to the streets in black clothes. They did so to send out a subtle message to promote their appeasement politics as this was the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya,” Shah told news agency ANI.
Shah claimed that Congress wants to send out a hidden message that it opposes the laying of Ram Janmabhoomi’s foundation stone.

He added that the party’s “appeasement politics” is the reason behind its downfall.
Speaking about the ED investigation in the National Herald case, Shah said that everybody should respect the law and order situation in the country.
Echoing similar sentiments, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that Congress’s move to protest in all-black clothes “is an insult to Ram Bhakts” across the country.
“Until now, Congress was protesting in normal attire but today they protested wearing black clothes. It’s an insult to all the Ram Bhakts. They chose this day as today is Ayodhya Diwas which marks the beginning of the construction of Ram Janambhoomi,” the chief minister said.
Scores of Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, staged protests against the government wearing all-black clothing.
The protests were held over issues such as price rise, hike in GST on essential items and unemployment.
While the male Congress MPs were seen sporting black kurtas, shirts, scarves, and headgears, the women leaders also wore black with elan led by party chief Sonia Gandhi who wore a printed crisp saree with a black border and a black blouse.
