Made in India Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 India launch on September 30 – Times of India


Mercedes-Benz India officially confirmed that it will be launching its all-new EQS 580 on September 30, 2022. After the launch of its flagship AMG EQS 53, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 will be the second EV from the German car luxury car manufacturer in the Indian market. Moreover, the upcoming EQS 580 will be locally assembled at Mercedes’s Pune production facility at Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra.
Dimensionally, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 measures 5,216 mm in length, 1,926 mm in width and 1,512 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,210 mm and a boot space of 610 litres.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580: Powertrain and range
The all-new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 will come equipped with a dual-motor set-up, one on each axle. The powertrain produces a peak power of 516 bhp and a max torque of 856 Nm. It comes paired with a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The electric sedan will make use of a107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a claimed WLTP range of 770 km per charge.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580: Exterior and interior
Similar to the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan and EQS SUV, the all-new EQS 580 is built on the company’s Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) platform. Featuring a sleek profile, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 has received frameless doors, a closed grille, LED headlamps, flush handles and more. The electric sedan sits on 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
As far as the interior is concerned, we expect the EQS 580 to come equipped with 56-inch ‘Hyperscreen’ for the Made-in-India model.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580: Price and rivals
The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 price will be announced on September 30, however we expect it to carry a price tag of around Rs 1.80 crore (ex-showroom) in India. Upon launch, it will compete with the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT.
