The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a new notification that aims to make it easier for citizens to avail transport related services. On September 17, the ministry announced that a total of 58 services related to driving license, vehicle registration, permit, and transfer of ownership can now be availed online, eliminating the need to visit the RTO office.
One can now avail these services from the comfort of their home with the help of Aadhaar authentication, on voluntary basis. MoRTH says that providing such services would not only save time for citizens, but also, the footfall at the RTOs will be significantly reduced, thus increasing the efficiency.
