Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said “We are thrilled to witness the Nexon EV MAX achieving this remarkable milestone which further demonstrates its capabilities.” He further added, “Besides, it has an inherent advantage of high altitude, thinner air, lower pressure having no impact on its performance. This has been well established with this milestone.”
The Tata Nexon EV Max has a 105 kW (143 PS) and 250 Nm producing motor and a 40.5 kWh battery pack that gives it an ARAI certified range of 437 km. What this challenge also proved, is that the Nexon EV Max is capable of tackling rough terrains and environment and isn’t just a city runabout. The electric SUV further gets features such as ESP, i-VBAC, Hill-hold and descent control, making challenging terrains much easier to navigate. It has the advantage of a high 205 mm ground clearance and high-water wading capability as well.
Currently, the Nexon EV is the largest selling 4-wheeler EV in India, in FY22 it commanded 63 percent of the market share. Since 2020, Tata Motors has sold more than 40,000 EVs, out of which 30,000 belong to the Nexon EV range.
